We are pleased to announce that Retail inMotion has entered into a cooperation with Eurowings and NX-FOOD, an innovation-driving hub of METRO, to bring new products and food solutions to passengers on board Eurowings flights beginning in August 2018.
NX-FOOD is short for Next Generation Food. As a hub, it is always on the lookout for new technologies, impulses and innovative products shaping the future food system. In a special program, it offers food startups the opportunity to gauge customers’ demand for their product in a three-month market trial at so-called start-up shelves at real or METRO Cash & Carry. After this piloting phase, a jury decides whether or not the product gets listed in the assortment.
The same logic applies for this cooperation: Upon completing a comprehensive application with NX-FOOD, all airline-appropriate food and beverages will be submitted to a joint jury from Eurowings, NX-FOOD and Retail inMotion to be assessed for their potential to fly onboard Eurowings flights for a three-month validation period.
Based on sales data and customer feedback, a decision will be made after the three-month test period as to whether or not the products will remain on the menu permanently. At that time, the jury will also select new menu items to be added to the Eurowings menu.
