Our team at Retail inMotion has wrapped up the 2019 autumn roadshow event for Eurowings crew. This year, over 500 crew members attended the event held in eight locations, six of which were in Germany, one in Austria and one in Spain.
The event, which lasted from October 22nd until November 13th, 2019 offered crew members the chance to experience the entire new product range (on board since November 1st, 2019). Our team was there to support the event with product samples and information about the brand-new products and to collect feedback from crew members. The aim of this roadshow season was to give the crew the opportunity to experience the products they are selling and familiarize themselves with the smells, the sizes, the colours and all the details that make a difference when presenting our offers to the passengers.
“This roadshow season was a great success in terms of voluntary crew attendance. We listened carefully in spring and implemented a new concept. The fact that many crew members dropped by in their spare time to learn about the new product range showed their engagement and identification with their job,” commented Patrick Heitmeyer, Crew Engagement Manager – Europe. “For the crew to test the products is a first step to assist them in identifying with the offering. This builds confidence when talking with customers and supports the creation of an outstanding customer service experience. Offering products for sale on board is an opportunity for an airline to enhance their service offering and to add a positive touch point to the customer experience.”
The roadshow event, organized exclusively for the Eurowings crew, was put together by the Retail inMotion GmbH team in Cologne, in line with our global crew engagement strategy.
Crew members, who participated in the 9-day event had the unique opportunity to prepare for the ongoing WINGS Challenge, an incentive to motivate sales on board and to recognize those that excel at onboard retail. The Top 60 crew members will secure a ticket to the 2020 Night of the Stars Gala Event.
Earlier this year, 60 of Eurowings’ top retail stars joined in from their stations across Europe as they were recognized for outstanding salesmanship on board at the “Alte Versteigerungshalle” in Cologne, Germany. (You can read all about that, here!)
