To prepare for the launch of Onboard Delights, Retail inMotion, together with Lufthansa, performed the first ground tests in Frankfurt and Munich in April.

Lufthansa’s new catering concept, developed in collaboration with Retail inMotion, is now available to Economy Class passengers. We talked to RiM’s Manuel Hübschmann and Ole Jansen about the challenges and opportunities of implementing such a complex project virtually, how they managed to avoid operational bottlenecks, and how technology helped operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Retail inMotion (RiM) is proud to support Lufthansa on their path to a new catering concept. As of today, Economy Class passengers on short- and medium-haul flights will be able to purchase fresh, sustainable, high quality food and beverage products from the “Onboard Delights” menu, the airline’s new culinary program.
