These are unprecedented times not just for the airline industry but for all businesses and markets across the world. The outbreak of the novel coronavirus has changed our professional and social lives but we need some positive news to keep things in perspective.
That said, the Onboard Hospitality Awards, which celebrate excellence and innovation in air, rail and cruise, are here! This year, the winners in different categories are announced in the Onboard Hospitality’s DAILY every day from March 30 to April 3.
That said, we are proud to announce that Retail inMotion and SunExpress have been honoured with the prestigious “Catering Innovation of the Year” award at the 2020 Onboard Hospitality Awards for the ‘We Care’ pages in the Sun Café & Sun Shop all-in-one catalogue.
Check out the judges’ comments about ‘We Care’ here:
“What we’d like to achieve with ‘We Care’ is to empower passengers and offer them the chance to choose sustainable products,” said José Lirio Silva, Head of Onboard Retail Europe for Retail inMotion. “In the end, we want to give people options and this is what ‘We Care’ is all about: offering an assortment of products with a sustainable character that passengers onboard SunExpress flights can choose from.”
Peter Glade, Chief Commercial Officer of SunExpress added: “Innovation has always been a vital part of our DNA. Being acknowledged for a sustainable innovation now is twice as satisfying for us because we are also always aiming at doing our part to become an environmentally friendly airline and providing our passengers with sustainable choices. With our strong partner Retail inMotion, there is yet much more to come in this field, and we are already looking forward to it.”
‘We Care’ was introduced as a new category in the SunExpress Catalogue Winter 2019/2020, with products that change on a regular basis based on seasonality and market trends.
The products included in the ‘We Care’ pages, which have a sustainability twist, have been carefully selected from various categories (like hot drinks or cosmetics). Sustainability is front and center for both Retail inMotion and SunExpress, and the outcome of this collaboration is reflected in the buy-on-board offer. Furthermore, passengers who are interested in learning more about the stories behind the products can find all the necessary information on the ‘We Care’ pages.
The ‘We Care’ pages include the following products:
- Sprout Tea Spoon and Sprout Pencil: Sprout Spoon is a 100% biodegradable spoon and tea bag in one which can be unfolded and brewed in hot water for a cup of delicious tea.
