Lauren Reilly joined Retail inMotion earlier this year as an IT Sales & Account Manager on our IT Commercial team. That means she spends her days scouring the industry looking for new business opportunities for the Retail inMotion technology suite and enabling our customers to make best use of Retail inMotion technology.
A few months ago, I was scrolling through LinkedIn and a recent job posting caught my eye – I hit the ‘Apply’ button. 48 hours later, I had completed a phone interview and was on my way to ‘Hangar57’ to meet some of the Retail inMotion team. I was instantly impressed by the professionalism, intelligence and friendly manner of the Retail inMotion team, and of course, the bright and funky offices.
Fast forward to now and I have completed my first month working on the IT Commercial team. The month has passed in a flash of excitement and interesting new challenges.
Here are 5 things that I have experienced at Retail inMotion in a few short weeks:
1. The HR team understand the importance of friendliness and positivity in the workplace
Every single person has been super welcoming and the HR team have made a real effort to integrate new starters. From a ‘get to know each other’ coffee and scones meeting to Wednesday Workshops and Town Hall meetings, there have been so many ways to get involved and get to know people across all the different teams at Retail inMotion.
2. Decisions are made quickly and work is done efficiently
Retail inMotion has grown immensely since its inception, but keeps moving forward with the agility and can-do attitude of a start-up. Decisions are made quickly allowing to make new ideas a reality almost immediately, with the avoidance of red tape or strenuous processes.
3. It is impossible to become bored
One of the great things about Retail inMotion is that your role will never be static and become boring. If you show interest in a project or would like to get involved in something, you can! From HR to Marketing to IT innovation, everyone’s opinion is listened to and valued.
4. Retail inMotion is a multicultural environment
Retail inMotion has team members from all over the world, with a vast range of first languages and professional backgrounds, but the same excitement and drive to enhance customer solutions and make Retail inMotion better every day. We also have customers from all over the world, which provides the opportunity to work internationally and deliver on a global scale.
5. There is a strong foundation of trust and support
Retail inMotion has a culture that promotes and supports high performance opportunities. Individuals are trusted and supported to take on new challenges. Micro-management doesn’t exist at Retail inMotion but rather an open and understanding environment where you can learn from mistakes and grow.
