. Net Principal Engineer/ Team Lead

The Opportunity:

Our IT Department here at Retail inMotion are looking for a .Net Team Lead to join our Engineering Team.

How you will make a differrence:

  • Work with and lead your team to ensure deadlines are met
  • Drive the development of high performance back end systems utilizing the .Net framework, MS SQL Server and related technologies
  • Hands-on technical leadership (70% hands-on effort at least)
  • Driving technology change and innovation within its own area in sync with overall company technology strategy
  • Good understanding of the overall product software architecture and solid understanding of building complex software applications
  • Subject matter expert in your area
  • Promote and encourage best engineering practices including documentation
  • Drive peer reviews and foster quality and improvement
  • Act as a mentor for the team members and ensure special focus on new-comers
  • Focus on prioritizing technical debt reduction and improvement work
  • Lead engineering cross-collaboration across product verticals, ensuring cross-dependency and impact is always kept in mind
  • Foster end-to-end engineering and product deployment ownership in the vertical (definition of ownership: development, test, documentation, deployment, release after care, production support)
  • Collaborate with product owners to groom backlog
  • Provide freedom and safety so that individuals and teams are free to innovate, experiment and even fail on occasions.
  • Communicate openly and honestly with all stakeholders
  • Support infrastructure, culture, organization and strategy for implementing DevOps and Release on Demand
  • Understand, teach or sponsor the software and hardware engineering skills needed to support the development of highquality code, components, systems, and solutions

  • C#
  • NET Framework & .NET Core

  • Services: RETful API, WSDL
  • Git
  • Atlassian stack (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence etc)
  • CI/CD (Jenkins, Octopus)
  • Specflow
  • Domain driven development & Behaviour driven development
  • Understanding of distributed architecture
  • MongoDB

Soft Skills you will bring:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to other teams and all stakeholders within RiM with the added ability to interpret technical to non-technical
  • Ability to clearly write requirements
  • Good knowledge of software development best practices (solid, agile, unit tests, etc)
  • Ability to collaborate with the Engineering Manager to develop a training plan for the development team
  • Ability to transfer technical knowledge to the development team
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Conflict resolution
  • Experience working in a distributed team
